
Police chased a pickup truck carrying Myanmar workers that lost control and overturned off the road in Phatthalung Province, resulting in 3 deaths and 12 injuries.
At approximately 00:20 on 21 January 2026, Police Lieutenant Sunthorn Yingkhong, an investigator at Pa Bon Police Station, inspected the scene on Pru Pho–Thung Nari Road, Village No. 3, Pa Bon Subdistrict, Pa Bon District, Phatthalung Province, after receiving a report of a pickup truck from Chumphon province carrying Myanmar migrant workers that lost control and overturned, causing casualties.
At the scene, two deceased Myanmar men were found lying dead in a roadside ditch. Additionally, 13 injured persons were found—10 women and 3 men—all Myanmar nationals whose names were unknown.
Later reports confirmed an additional Myanmar victim died at the hospital, bringing the death toll to three. The male driver was injured and taken to Ratphum Hospital for treatment, where charges were filed against him.
Initial investigations revealed the pickup truck was a suspect vehicle transporting migrant workers and was being pursued by Border Patrol Police officers before it lost control and overturned off the road, causing multiple deaths and injuries. Authorities are continuing detailed investigations and examinations of the accident scene.
