A tense moment occurred when a steel truck suddenly braked on Bhumibol Bridge 2, causing steel to slide and pierce through the front windshield. Fortunately, no one was injured.
At approximately 10:00 a.m. today (21 Jan 2026), a steel truck accident occurred on Bhumibol Bridge 2 within the jurisdiction of Phra Pradaeng Police Station, Samut Prakan Province. The truck involved belonged to a company and was a white Toyota 2-door HILUX CHAMP registered in Bangkok, traveling from the Phraek Sa area heading to deliver goods to a customer in Nakhon Pathom Province.
While ascending Bhumibol Bridge 2 and preparing to exit onto Suksawat Road, a private car abruptly cut in front, forcing the truck driver to brake urgently. This caused the steel cargo to slide and fall from the truck bed toward the front of the vehicle, piercing through the truck’s windshield just as the truck was coming to a stop. The incident caused great alarm among witnesses.
Fortunately, no one was injured as the truck driver was alone. Another steel truck from the same company, traveling together to the same destination, stopped to assist at the scene. That truck was unaffected and remained safe. The road surface showed only a long, shallow scrape, which the maintenance unit from the Samut Prakan branch of the Department of Rural Roads will inspect thoroughly to ensure safety for road users.
The steel that fell weighed more than two tons and required coordination to bring in a crane for lifting and clearing, which took some time and caused slow-moving and congested traffic in the area, with long queues forming.
This incident serves as a crucial warning to transport operators to strictly check safety measures and secure cargo firmly before vehicles hit the road, especially during peak hours, as such incidents can cause serious harm to property and the lives of road users.
