The 2nd Army Region, together with the Fine Arts Office Region 10 in Korat, inspected the 'Prasat Ta Kwai' temple, installed temporary supports to prevent collapse, and transported fallen stone debris out for condition assessment in preparation for restoration and repair.
On 22 Jan 2026 GMT+7, it was reported that the 2nd Army Region, in cooperation with the Fine Arts Office Region 10 in Nakhon Ratchasima, conducted an inspection of Prasat Ta Kwai in Bak Dai Subdistrict, Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province.
Mr. Tosaporn Srisaman, Director of the Fine Arts Office, stated that the inspection results will be submitted to a meeting for discussion, including approval for related actions. Meanwhile, they have installed structural supports to protect the historic site from collapse. They also opened a route to the temple to transport fallen stone debris for condition assessment, after which restoration and repairs will proceed in the next phase.
The 2nd Army Region received advice from the Fine Arts Office Director to exercise caution, avoid entering the temple, and keep away from its vicinity, as the structure is unstable and may collapse.
