The Eastern Forces, in cooperation with Sa Kaeo Police and the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), have integrated efforts to suppress scammers and expanded their investigation to arrest a network illegally transmitting signals across the border. They discovered internet signals connected to Poipet, Cambodia.
A reporter reported that on 21 Jan 2026 GMT+7, the Eastern Forces, led by Colonel Chainarong Kasee, Commander of the Aranyaprathet Task Force, together with Police Colonel Jaturapat Singhatsit, Deputy Commander of Sa Kaeo Provincial Police, and Mr. Trirat Wiriyasirikul, Secretary-General of the NBTC, inspected the illegal cross-border telecommunications signal transmission via communication lines in Tha Kham Subdistrict, Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province.
This inspection followed findings by the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD) and the Anti-Online Fraud Center (ACSC), which detected data on victims defrauded online, especially investment scams, involving internet usage connected to Cambodia through an IP address transmitting signals from Thailand to the neighboring country.
Further investigation revealed that some private companies continue to provide cross-border internet signals, having installed signal relay cabinets at a house in Village No. 1, Tha Kham Subdistrict, Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province. The property is owned by a local Thai resident who leases space to the private company to install servers transmitting internet signals.
The inspection results confirmed that internet signals were being transmitted to Poipet, Cambodia. The NBTC will proceed strictly with legal measures against the offenders.
Illegal transmission of internet signals to facilitate scammers is considered an act that damages national security and severely impacts Thai citizens.
The Eastern Forces, together with related agencies, affirm they will intensify integrated efforts to suppress this network and will not allow Thai people to become victims of these selfish groups. They also urge the public to cooperate by reporting any useful information or leads to authorities to help eliminate online crime from Thai society.
