
Amnat Ruenroeng, a former famous boxer, asks society for a chance after being detained by police for the fourth time over drunken disorder and causing trouble. He apologizes to boxing fans for causing discomfort and promises to improve himself and not to repeat the offense.
Reporters stated that on 23 Jan 2026, officers from Si Racha Police Station detained Amnat Ruenroeng, former Thai national amateur boxer and former IBF flyweight (112-pound) world champion, after he was intoxicated and caused disturbances in Si Racha district, Chonburi province. He was taken to the station for initial emotional control.
Most recently, on 24 Jan at 11:30 a.m., the investigating officer followed legal procedures before authorizing Amnat Ruenroeng's release after he had paid his fine.
Amnat Ruenroeng told reporters that he accepts responsibility for what happened, admitting he drank to the point of losing control and acted inappropriately. He asked for another chance from society and Thai boxing fans. He intends to improve himself and engage in beneficial activities, such as teaching boxing to children and youth at a nearby gym to share his experience and give back to the community.
He also apologized to the public and boxing fans nationwide for causing trouble and discomfort, assuring that he will not repeat such behavior again.
