Social Security Office Accelerates Aid for Descendants of Employee Who Died in Fall Accident in Saraburi Province

The Social Security Office (SSO) is accelerating assistance for the descendants of an employee who died after falling from a height while working in Saraburi Province.

Following an accident in Saraburi Province where a worker died from a fall while on the job, Ms. Kanchana Phunkeaw, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, expressed condolences over the incident and assigned Mr. Patrapol Tansathien, Social Security Officer of Saraburi Province, to promptly verify the legal benefits entitled to the family.

Ms. Kanchana Phunkeaw stated that the investigation found one insured person deceased, named Mr. Ta, aged 35, a Myanmar national. He fell from a height while cleaning a water storage tank atop a radiator, approximately 10 meters high—equivalent to a 4–5 story building—and later died while receiving treatment at the hospital. As an insured person under Section 33, he is entitled to protection from both the Workmen's Compensation Fund and the Social Security Fund. His heirs are eligible to receive funeral expenses of 50,000 baht, death compensation at 70% of wages for 10 years, as well as retirement benefits with interest, totaling over 800,000 baht.

Additionally, the Secretary-General has instructed Mr. Patrapol Tansathien to contact the employer to inspect the workplace and facilitate procedures under relevant regulations. He is also to provide detailed explanations of benefits to the deceased’s family, covering both Workmen's Compensation and Social Security entitlements, ensuring the heirs receive their rights fully and promptly to alleviate hardship and enable quick access to legal protections.

The Social Security Office reaffirmed its readiness to care for and protect the rights of insured persons and their heirs in all cases. It will monitor the proper, accurate, and fair disbursement of benefits and expresses deepest condolences to the family of the deceased on this occasion.
