This morning "Doi Inthanon" continues to experience cold weather with the lowest temperature at 1°C. Frost appeared extensively for the 41st time this winter season, breaking a 10-year record.
On 26 Jan 2026 GMT+7, reporters stated that at Doi Inthanon National Park, Chom Thong District, Chiang Mai Province, the sky was clear this morning with freezing cold weather. Tourists flocked to the mountain to experience the atmosphere and breathe fresh air.
Meanwhile, this morning at the summit and at the Kew Mae Pan viewpoint, the cold was so intense it made people’s lips chatter. Temperatures at these locations measured 1°C for the second consecutive day. Grass surface temperatures ranged from -0.1°C to 0.24°C, causing frost to cover the grass, parking area of the Doi Inthanon summit protection unit, and the Kew Mae Pan viewpoint.
As a result, tourists visiting today were excited and delighted to see the frost, taking photos to keep as souvenirs. This marked the 41st frost occurrence this winter and set the longest frost streak in 10 years.
The atmosphere at the Kew Mae Pan viewpoint was equally lively, with many tourists waiting to watch the day's first sunrise. The scene did not disappoint as the sun gradually emerged above the clouds, casting beautiful golden light. Visitors took selfies and videos to share on social media and preserve memories.
