The wildfire in Nakhon Nayok is now completely extinguished. The governor has ordered vigilance over more than 50% of areas still at risk where fires have not yet been ignited, and increased the reward for information leading to arrest of the perpetrators to 50,000 baht.
On 29 Jan 2026 GMT+7 at Pak Phli District Office, Nakhon Nayok province, Governor Chanon Wasiksiri and Deputy Governor Police Lieutenant Santit Thamjai held a meeting with various agencies to review the situation overnight. They found some new fires had been set but were quickly controlled, and all previously burned areas have now been fully extinguished.
Mr. Sansoern Kamthong, Pak Phli District Chief, said the nighttime operation was divided into two teams. The first was a surveillance team consisting of members from the Nakhon Nayok Provincial and Pak Phli District Territorial Defense units patrolling routes to monitor potential incidents. If any were found, they reported to a command center to dispatch the rapid response team. The second team was the rapid response unit, made up of local officials and support personnel from Bangkok, including staff, water trucks, and drones equipped to detect heat for emergency response and containment.
Last night, some illegal fires were still set in agricultural areas but were promptly controlled. The final case was resolved around midnight. At 08:00 today, after a meeting including Governor Chanon Wasiksiri, Deputy Governor Police Lieutenant Santit Thamjai, and related agencies, the governor emphasized stricter measures with officials, village leaders, and rapid response teams patrolling and monitoring. These teams include local and Bangkok personnel, focusing on tracking and arresting those illegally burning fields, especially in Tha Ruea subdistrict.
The governor ordered an increase in the reward to 50,000 baht for anyone providing information leading to the arrest and legal prosecution of offenders, aiming to motivate local residents to assist police by reporting suspicious activities.
All areas previously affected by illegal field burning are now fully controlled and extinguished. However, the province remains particularly concerned about and is intensively monitoring agricultural zones—over 50% of Tha Ruea subdistrict—that have not yet been burned but remain at high risk.
Anyone witnessing field burning incidents in Pak Phli subdistrict can directly report to the Pak Phli District Chief at 081-8671506.
Meanwhile, officials from Nakhon Nayok’s agricultural department reported during the meeting that the Eastern Royal Rainmaking Center’s director flew an inspection on 28 Jan 2026 GMT+7 in the afternoon and has instructed the center to plan and coordinate support for Nakhon Nayok province.
