In Nakhon Ratchasima, a crane accident caused a container to fall onto a trailer at the Thai-Chinese high-speed rail construction site in Pak Chong district. Fortunately, there were no injuries or deaths, and no one was willing to provide details about the incident.
At 12:00 PM on 31 January 2026, the Radio Center of the Prevention and Mitigation Division, Simamongkhon Municipality, Klang Dong Subdistrict, Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima, received a report of a large container falling onto a trailer. Two cranes were lifting it off the trailer at the high-speed rail construction project near telegraph pole km.166/10, Village No. 1, Ban Pang Asok, about 1 km from Pang Asok railway station, Klang Dong Subdistrict. After receiving the report, Mr. Tantikorn Yujaerern, a prevention and mitigation officer, along with a rescue vehicle from Simamongkhon Municipality and Klang Dong Municipality, rushed to investigate.
At the scene, authorities found a 22-wheel white Isuzu trailer truck, license plate 701-1848 Bangkok, with a 700-6696 Bangkok trailer at the rear. A large blue container marked "CHINA RAILWAY" was lying half on the trailer and half on the ground. At the front was a white crane, license plate 72-9858 Saraburi, with wire ropes attached for lifting. At the rear, a yellow crane, license plate 72-9835 Saraburi, had wire ropes hanging from its boom tied to the container loosely. The crane's base on the truck was bent, and both hydraulic cylinder rods were twisted, rendering it unable to lift.
Workers helping with the lift reported that inside the container were formworks for the high-speed rail bridge piers from contract section 3-1, Pang Asok station to Bandai Ma station, operated by the joint venture of Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited and China Railway. Two cranes, with capacities of 50 and 30 tons respectively, were jointly lifting the container off the trailer. The yellow crane at the rear caught a telegraph wire on the side, prompting the operators to lower it quickly. However, the container snagged on the rear of the trailer, causing the crane to lose balance. Its boom and hydraulic cylinders bent, and the container's rear portion fell to the ground. Fortunately, no injuries or deaths occurred, and no one was willing to provide details about the event.
