Wang Nam Khiao in Nakhon Ratchasima Province is preparing to close the high season with the 24th "Chrysanthemums Blooming in the Mist" festival to welcome Valentine's Day. The event aims to attract tourists amid the lowest visitor numbers in a decade, with expected revenue of no less than 10 million baht.
On 1 Feb 2026, a reporter reported that the festival site, located on about 6 rai beside the Thai Samakkhi Subdistrict Administrative Organization office in Wang Nam Khiao District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, is being prepared for the "Chrysanthemums Blooming in the Mist" festival, now in its 24th year.
Officials have recently prepared tens of thousands of chrysanthemums of various varieties to welcome tourists. About 20 percent have already begun blooming, displaying beautiful colors amid the comfortably cool weather throughout the day, especially in the morning and evening when temperatures drop below 17 degrees Celsius.
Besides the key highlight—the chrysanthemums—the pond at the event entrance still shows emerald green water, enhancing the venue's beauty. The 24th "Chrysanthemums Blooming in the Mist" festival will run from 14 February to 1 March 2026.
Mr. Pongthep Malachasingsa, chairman of the Wang Nam Khiao Tourism Promotion Club, said the recent winter high season was very challenging, with the number of tourists dropping to the lowest in 10 years. This decline may be due to political instability, the Thai-Cambodian border conflict, and economic hardships faced by locals.
He expressed gratitude to the government for continuously supporting the festival, which is expected to attract over 100,000 visitors to Wang Nam Khiao during the event period, generating an estimated revenue of no less than 10 million baht.
So far during this high season, Wang Nam Khiao has generated about 30 million baht from tourism. He invited tourists to visit Wang Nam Khiao in the final stretch of the high season to enjoy the beauty of the "Chrysanthemums Blooming in the Mist" festival.
