Explosion at Residence in Yala Province Linked to Violent Extremist Group, Officials Say

The Internal Security Operations Command Region 4 Front revealed that an explosion inside a residence in Yala Province resulted in one person being seriously injured. Upon investigation at the scene, officials found evidence linking the incident to a "violent extremist group." Authorities are currently expediting the identification of those involved after finding blood drops along the exit path from the scene.

On 3 February 2026, the Internal Security Operations Command Region 4 Front reported that on 2 February at approximately 19:50, an explosion occurred inside a residence in Village No. 1, Yala, Yala Subdistrict, Mueang District, Yala Province. This caused one person to sustain serious injuries. Rescue personnel urgently transported the victim to Yala Central Hospital for treatment.

Following the report, security forces, police, military, and related agencies secured the area, examined the scene, and meticulously collected evidence. Initial findings include objects and equipment believed to be connected to a violent extremist group. Forensic analysis is ongoing to determine the exact cause of the incident.

Simultaneously, authorities are gathering intelligence and tracing a blood trail believed to belong to individuals involved in the explosion. The trail leads toward Ban Pajo, Village No. 3, Yala Subdistrict, Mueang District, Yala Province. Investigations are expanding to further examine the incident.
