Heartbreaking news: a 33-year-old man died in an accident in Prachinburi Province on the exact date he first met his girlfriend eight years ago.
On 3 Feb 2026, it was reported that at 17:30 on 2 Feb, Police Lieutenant Yutthapoom Damrongtham, the on-duty officer at Nadee Police Station, received a report from the Satja Buddhatham Foundation radio center in Kabinburi that a deceased person was found in a ditch near Ban Thung Faek, Thung Pho Subdistrict, Nadee District, Prachinburi Province. Upon receiving the report, the officer and team proceeded to the scene.
Initially, the scene was located along the durian orchard road in Ban Thung Faek, Village No. 3, Thung Pho Subdistrict, Nadee District, Prachinburi. At the scene, a black motorcycle registered in Prachinburi was found overturned off the road near a drainage pipe, with the front of the bike nose-dived. Nearby lay the deceased on his back with hands on forehead, wearing a dark navy collared shirt and blue shorts. He was later identified as Mr. Chaiyrit, aged 33.
It was learned that the deceased left his girlfriend’s home early on 1 Feb 2026 to visit friends and relatives near the accident location. Around 23:30 that night, he rode his motorcycle to return home. After midnight on 2 Feb, he called a friend’s girlfriend with whom he had been drinking, but she did not answer. Local residents found him deceased that evening.
Mr. Ekarin Pilatan, 44, who discovered the body, said, “After work, I was driving by when a dog barked, so I stopped to check and found him like this. I called out to him. He used to come from Khok Krachong village to visit his older brother regularly. I think he might have been returning home last night.”
A friend who had been drinking with the deceased said, “He started drinking yesterday morning. I went to sleep before him; I think he left around 11 pm or midnight.”
Ms. Prakaikaew, 29, the deceased’s wife, said, “His brother called me around 5 pm. I was finishing work. He came here every Sunday. My husband rarely answered his phone. Whenever he was drunk, he stayed at his brother’s house, but this time I don’t know why he went out. We had been married and lived together for eight years. We first met on 2 Feb, and he left me on 2 Feb.”
Officials handed over the body to Satja Buddhatham Foundation rescue volunteers who took it to Nadee Hospital for autopsy. Afterwards, the body was returned to relatives for traditional religious funeral rites.
