At 2:00 p.m. on 5 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Soisr Boran, an eligible voter from Khon Kaen's District 9, went to the Khon Kaen Provincial Election Commission Office to submit video evidence of vote-buying involving 1,000 baht circulating on social media. He handed the evidence to Mr. Watchara Sisan, Director of the Khon Kaen Election Commission Office, requesting verification of the facts and prosecution of offenders. The clip shows activity in Kaongio Subdistrict, Phon District, within electoral District 9.
Mr. Soisr Boran stated that he came to file a complaint with the Khon Kaen Election Commission to request an investigation into vote-buying in District 9 after discovering that a local group, representing one candidate, offered money to residents. The video clearly captures discussion about the 1,000 baht payment to villagers.
Mr. Soisr added that although he was not present during the incident shown in the clip, as a local resident and voter, he decided to submit the evidence to the Khon Kaen Election Commission for investigation to clarify what happened. He confirmed the video is genuine and the event occurred recently.
Mr. Soisr affirmed that submitting the documents and evidence to the Election Commission was not intended to discredit or harass anyone, but was done in good faith as a responsible citizen. After seeing the clip and feeling uneasy, he wants the relevant authorities to investigate according to proper procedures.
