Update on Nikki, the Lost Himalayan Brown Vulture, After Close Care

Good news from the cage: condition update "Nikki" the lost Himalayan brown vulture, now steadily improving after close care.


On 6 Feb 2026, FacebookPublic Relations, Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservationposted a message updating the condition of "Nikki," the Himalayan brown vulture. It stated, "Good news from the cage: after 'Nikki,' the lost Himalayan brown vulture, received close care from veterinarians and staff, the condition has steadily improved.

Key progress: the veterinarian reports that Nikki now eats more following close attention from the medical team and staff. Soon, Nikki is expected to join other Himalayan brown vultures at the Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Breeding Station in Uthai Thani Province to fully recover before being released back into the wild.
