Artists and Popular Pages Encourage Thais to Vote in February 8, 2026 Election and Referendum

Artists and popular social media pages invite the public to exercise their right to vote for MPs and participate in the nationwide referendum on February 8, 2026.

On 7 February 2026, reporters described the final phase of campaigning for the referendum on the new draft constitution, which aims to replace the 2017 constitution criticized for the appointed Senate's power and undemocratic structure.

Recently at the plaza in front of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, people gathered for activities related to the referendum, organized through collaboration between FreeArts and artist networks. The stage featured alternating presentations providing in-depth information about the referendum from Pao Yingcheep Atjanont of iLaw, Professor Mik Yuttana Srisawat Pakumkad, and Koi Aratchaporn Phokinpakorn.

Artists performing on stage included TAITOSMITH, POLYCAT, H3F, MOVING AND CUT, and Pla Nin Tem Baan.

At one point, Jai TAITOSMITH spoke before performing the song “Huachai Seri” (“Free Heart”) about the current political situation, saying: “Whatever happens politically from here on, no matter which side prevails, I want to tell my friends not to lose hope in this country or in politics. Your hope is very valuable. Let’s support each other’s hope. I hope that one day we will meet again at some event or concert when our country is better.”

Meanwhile, the Facebook page Drama-addict, run by Dr. Witawat Siriprachai, posted images and messages stating: “Young people, go vote on Sunday! The future is in your hands!”

Similarly, the Facebook page Mor Lab Panda posted a message saying: “On 8 February!! Every vote matters in shaping Thailand’s future. Go show your important power by voting in both the election and the referendum. It is the duty of citizens in a democracy.”

On the other hand, the page So Pao - This Matter Needs Attention posted a message stating: “If today you have ever felt “that justice is unequal,” have seen the powerless bullied, the powerful get away with wrongdoing, and the voice of the people unheard… Remember! The future of this country is still in our hands. Going out to vote and expressing your power wisely is the real power that can change the country. Think carefully, choose what you believe in, use your own judgment because every vote is the future of our children and the power of the “people.””
