Tower Crane Arm Breaks and Falls on Workers Near Popular Asoke Mall, Initially Injuring Two

A dramatic incident occurred when the arm of a tower crane broke and fell from a height within a construction site near a well-known mall in the Asoke area, injuring two Myanmar workers, one of whom was seriously hurt.

At 10:27 a.m. on 7 Feb 2026, Police Lieutenant Colonel Phairoj Maneejan, an investigator at Lumpini Police Station, received a report of a tower crane arm breaking and falling on workers inside a construction site near a famous department store in Asoke, Sukhumvit 21, Khlong Toei Nuea, Watthana district, Bangkok. He rushed to the scene with volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation.

At the scene, the arm of the tower crane was found broken and fallen onto workers below, injuring two people. One injured was a Myanmar woman who sustained an injury to her left leg and was taken to Vimut-Theptharin Hospital for treatment.

The other injured was a man with head and facial injuries, in critical condition and unconscious. Chulalongkorn emergency responders performed CPR to revive him before transporting him to Police General Hospital.


Investigations revealed that the tower crane arm broke and fell onto workers operating below, causing the two serious injuries.

Authorities will investigate those involved to proceed with legal action as appropriate.
