Korat Bus Terminal Bustles as People Return Home to Vote in Election and Constitutional Referendum

The Korat bus terminal is lively as citizens actively book tickets to return to their hometowns to vote in the upcoming election and constitutional referendum.

This afternoon (7 Feb 2026), reports indicate heavy traffic on Mittraphap Road in the heart of Nakhon Ratchasima city, with vehicles moving slowly. At the 2nd Nakhon Ratchasima Bus Terminal, many residents who work in other provinces, especially in the eastern region and Bangkok, are traveling back home to exercise their voting rights in the election and constitutional referendum.

Meanwhile, people from other provinces who work or reside in Nakhon Ratchasima are purchasing tickets and waiting to board buses to return to their hometowns to vote as well, making the 2nd Nakhon Ratchasima Bus Terminal very busy.

Interprovincial bus trips are fully booked on every route, and most passengers are traveling light without much luggage. Many said they plan to vote tomorrow (8 Feb 2026) and then return to work immediately or travel back the following day (9 Feb 2026).

This election has generated significant public interest. The Nakhon Ratchasima Transport Company has planned to add extra bus trips before election day to accommodate voters traveling home and is rigorously inspecting the safety of each vehicle, drivers, and service staff to ensure passengers travel quickly and safely.

Ms. Piyanat Klangphanom, Director of the Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Election Commission, said that for the 8 Feb 2026 election, the province has 16 constituencies with 4,556 polling stations and 2,145,354 eligible voters. The Korat Election Commission expects a 75% voter turnout and unofficial election results will be known starting at 22:00.
