On 10 February 2026, Narongwit Chodchoi, director of Khao Kheow Open Zoo, revealed that fans can now see Moo Deng relaxing comfortably as he tries earnestly to squeeze into his favorite basin. Although Moo Deng has grown rapidly, making the basin look noticeably smaller, he insists on soaking himself inside to enjoy the moment, even opening his mouth wide to welcome the water sprayed on him.
His lively movements against the water in the confined space are agile, with a caretaker continuously spraying mist to keep him refreshed. This determined effort to lie in the basin has won much affection from visitors.
What warms fans' hearts is Moo Deng's smooth, healthy skin typical of a playful young pygmy hippo, combined with his bright eyes looking up at the camera while in the basin. He also carefully arranges his body to curl up inside the beloved white basin as best as he can, even though he looks much tighter than before due to his ongoing growth.
