The Meteorological Department warns that during Chinese New Year from 15-18 February 2026, prepare for seasonal rain in the Central, Eastern, Southern, and Lower Northeastern regions, many areas will experience rain.
On 10 February 2026, the websiteof the Meteorological Departmentissued a 7-day weather forecast covering 10–16 February 2026. It stated that from 11 to 14 February, the high-pressure system or cold air mass covering upper Thailand will weaken, while easterly and southeasterly winds will cover the lower Central and Eastern regions. This will cause temperatures in upper Thailand to rise, with morning fog and some rain in certain areas.
Waves and winds in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea will weaken, with the lower Gulf of Thailand experiencing waves 1–2 meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, waves will be higher than 2 meters due to the northeast monsoon covering the Gulf of Thailand, the South, and the Andaman Sea with weakened strength.
From 15 to 16 February 2026, the high-pressure system or cold air mass with weakened strength will cover the North and Northeast regions, keeping these areas cool with morning fog. Meanwhile, southeasterly winds covering the Central and Eastern regions will bring scattered thunderstorms there. Easterly winds over the Gulf of Thailand and the South will strengthen, causing increased rain and heavy showers in some southern areas.
Waves and winds in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea will remain moderate, with the lower Gulf of Thailand having waves 1–2 meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, waves will exceed 2 meters due to a moderate northeast monsoon covering the Gulf of Thailand, the South, and the Andaman Sea.
