Phayao villagers were alarmed after discovering four bombs on the mountain near Ban Pang Ma O village. Authorities immediately moved to collect and destroy them.
At 3:00 p.m. on 10 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Police Colonel Wisit Pluemjai, Chief Investigator of the Phayao Provincial Police, received a report from villagers about unidentified explosive devices found on the mountain near Ban Pang Ma O, Moo 4, Pa Chang Noi Subdistrict, Pong District, Phayao Province.
After receiving the report, Lieutenant Colonel Jesada Chamnan-ya, Deputy Chief of the Investigation Division and head of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit at Phayao Provincial Police, along with Mr. Piya Khiewdee, Deputy District Chief of Pong, and officers from Pong Police Station, proceeded to the bomb discovery site.
They found two 60 mm and two 81 mm curved trajectory grenade launcher rounds. The officers immediately destroyed the ordnance at the discovery location.
