Uthai Thani Hospital Mourns Doctor and Nurse Killed with Driver in Nakhon Sawan Van Crash

Uthai Thani Hospital posted condolences for a doctor and nurse who died along with their driver in a van accident involving the Uthai Thani Provincial Public Health Office van rear-ending a truck from the Ban Dan Highway Division in Nakhon Sawan Province.

At 3:30 p.m. on 10 Feb 2026, Lieutenant Colonel Wira Phuengyam, the duty officer at Mueang Nakhon Sawan Police Station (Nong Ben branch), received a report of a van accident involving the Uthai Thani Provincial Public Health Office unit colliding with the rear of a truck from the Ban Dan Highway Division on Phahonyothin Road No. 1 southbound at kilometer markers 361-362, in front of Moji Watthanaporn shop, Moo 6, Nong Kradon Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nakhon Sawan Province. The accident resulted in multiple deaths and injuries. Authorities coordinated with the Chao Pho Kuan Wu-Nakhon Sawan Rescue Foundation and reported to superiors before rushing to the scene to use cutting tools to rescue the injured from the vehicle.

At the scene, they found a bronze Toyota van registered in Uthai Thani that had rear-ended a yellow six-wheel truck from the Ban Dan Highway Division, Banphot Phisai District, Nakhon Sawan, registered in Bangkok. The truck was loaded with logs, and the van struck the left rear of the truck, causing the van's front left side to crumple inward, trapping the driver. Passengers inside the van were thrown forward and crowded near the front of the vehicle.

Inside the van were eight passengers. Three died at the scene: Dr. Warunrada Rojjanabut, 35, a specialist physician at Uthai Thani Hospital; Ms. Kesara Amjuay, 46, a professional nurse specialist at Uthai Thani Hospital; and Mr. Charin Sikawi, 26, the driver. Five others inside the van were injured.

Meanwhile, two staff members from the Ban Dan Highway Division who were with the truck sustained minor injuries. Rescue workers promptly provided assistance and transferred the injured to Sawanpracharak Hospital (Khao Khiao branch). Police and relevant agencies are investigating the scene and collecting evidence to determine the accident's cause in detail.

Recently, Uthai Thani Hospital posted a condolence message stating, "Uthai Thani Hospital mourns and expresses its deepest condolences to the families of those lost and injured in the accident involving the van of Uthai Thani Hospital medical personnel. We also send our heartfelt support to those affected."
