Revealing the Tense Moments of School Shooting in Songkhla: Suspect Searches for Teacher but Fires First at Principal

A shooting incident at a school in Songkhla revealed tense moments as the suspect, believed to be a former student, stormed in and announced over the public address system searching for a teacher. When the teacher was not found, the suspect shot the principal first.

On 11 Feb 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that an armed suspect stormed Patongprathan Kirivat School in Patong Subdistrict, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, taking students and teachers—number unknown—as hostages. Initial reports indicated one teacher was shot and injured. Rescue and emergency teams were entering the scene to provide assistance, as previously reported.

Recently, officials spoke with a grade 9 student who was released and provided information to the news team that at approximately 16:59 GMT+7, the suspect, a former student, armed with a gun, entered the school searching for a particular teacher. When the teacher was not found, the suspect announced via the PA system that if the teacher did not appear within 30 minutes, he would shoot. When the time elapsed, the suspect shot the principal first. The suspect then gradually released uninvolved students. The teacher the suspect sought is now under police protection.

Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
