Minister Narumon revealed that Prime Minister Anutin has ordered approval of 1 million baht in compensation for the family of Director Sasiphat, while the Ministry of Education is considering special merit awards and enabling the appointment of the director's heirs as civil servants according to regulations, assuring full care for the injured and psychological rehabilitation.

On 13 February 2026 at 19:00, Professor Dr. Narumon Phinyosinwat, Minister of Education, reported on progress regarding support for the injured and families of those who died in the attack at Patong Prathan Khiriwat School in Songkhla Province. Following the incident, she promptly visited the area to monitor the situation and closely encouraged teachers, students, and parents, continuously reporting the situation to Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who has been deeply concerned and closely following the developments since the event occurred.

The Prime Minister has directed that funds from the Office of the Prime Minister be used to compensate the family of Mrs. Sasiphat Sinsomros, Director of Patong Prathan Khiriwat School, who died while protecting students. He recognized her sacrifice as significant and worthy of proper care. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of psychological rehabilitation for teachers, students, and educational personnel affected by the incident.

Minister of Education added that after visiting the area last evening, the Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Education to promptly prepare details to submit to the Office of the Prime Minister’s fund committee. The ministry has provided the necessary information and supporting documents. Recently, it was informed that the committee approved compensation of 1 million baht to the family of Mrs. Sasiphat. On Tuesday, 17 February, the compensation will be presented to the family during the royal funeral ceremony to honor and pay respects to her courageous heroism.

Regarding the injured, especially students still undergoing treatment, medical certification documents must be awaited for consideration according to established criteria before proceeding with assistance steps. The government and the Ministry of Education affirm they will closely support and ensure no family faces the consequences alone.

Furthermore, Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat Prompao, Deputy Prime Minister overseeing the Ministry of Education, has instructed the ministry to review benefits and special merit pensions per relevant regulations. Currently, the Teachers' Civil Service and Educational Personnel Commission Office is considering assistance for the family of Director Sasiphat to honor her sacrifice. According to regulation W 12/2562, government agencies can consider welfare and help appoint heirs of civil servants under the Ministry of Education who died in the line of duty or as good citizens to become teachers or educational personnel in other positions under Section 38 K. (2). Director Sasiphat has two children studying at university (third year) and secondary school (second year). Upon graduation, they may proceed under these regulations if they wish to enter civil service.
