At approximately 13:30 on 14 February 2026, Police Lieutenant Colonel Winai, an investigating officer at Thap Sakae Police Station, Prachuap Khiri Khan province, was notified of a fire at a yacht shipyard on the shore of Ban Thung Pradu, Village No. 3, Thap Sakae subdistrict, Thap Sakae district, Prachuap Khiri Khan. The fire occurred at a shipbuilding factory specializing in three-deck yachts with about 200 seats. The flames raged fiercely, and officials hurried to spray water to control the fire engulfing the yacht and the metal sheet roofed steel structure. The building collapsed, and about 10 nearby shipping containers were also damaged by fire. After the incident, Sittichai Sawatsaen, governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan, accompanied by Monthachai Nusai, Thap Sakae district chief, personally supervised and inspected the scene.Tags: [shipbuilding factory, fire damage, government inspection, yacht, shipping containers]

According to witness Phra Suphot, who was meditating near the scene, he and another monk saw smoke rising and went to check. They found flames burning beneath the hull of the yacht. He fetched water in a bucket to try to extinguish the fire, but strong winds prevented them from putting it out, allowing the fire to spread and engulf the yacht.Tags: [witness account, meditation, fire, yacht, wind]

Charan Srichaem, chairman of the Ban Thung Pradu community enterprise, said he was repairing a fishing boat at the canal mouth when he saw large smoke rising into the sky. He rushed to the scene and contacted police to bring fire trucks to control the fire. He learned that the yacht was built by C Man Yacht Company and owned by a Singaporean foreigner. The three-deck yacht seats about 200 and is valued at over 40 million baht. Authorities will have the Prachuap Khiri Khan provincial forensic team conduct a detailed investigation into the fire's cause.Tags: [community leader, fire, yacht details, investigation, C Man Yacht, Singapore owner]
