On Valentine's Day, a spectacular wedding was held where two young LGBTQ men wed, presenting a dowry of 28.9 million baht, 100 baht of gold, and diamond rings worth 900,000 baht, along with a ceremony for their new house valued at 35 million baht.
On 14 February 2026, social media in Buriram province buzzed on Valentine's Day with shared photos of an LGBTQ couple's wedding. One post stated, “Wow!!! New house worth 35 million, wedding dowry 28,900,000 baht, 100 baht of gold, diamond rings 900,000 baht. These are more than just numbers—they symbolize a promise to care for each other forever. Congratulations on the sincere wedding and starting your life together.”
A reporter spoke with Mr. Phusirakon, or Mik, 42, from Ban Prue Subdistrict, Krasang District, Buriram Province, the groom and owner of the wedding venue. He said the event took place on 13 February and included a housewarming and wedding with Mr. Phurichsit, or Pong Kaewkaemchan, 37, from Lan Saka District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. Both are owners of a built-in home design and decoration company in Bangkok.
Mr. Phusirakon explained that after graduating, he worked at an automobile assembly factory in Chachoengsao Province and met Mr. Phurichsit through Facebook. They later quit their jobs to co-found the built-in design company about 11 years ago. During that time, they dated, saved money, and decided to build a life together. The house cost 35 million baht, the dowry totaled 28.9 million baht, with 100 baht of gold, and two diamond rings priced at 900,000 baht each. Additionally, they hired a famous Mor Lam performance troupe to entertain local residents for free.
Mr. Phusirakon, the groom, also said that after nearly 11 years together, he wants all couples to learn each other's personalities, improve, forgive, support, help, and sustain each other's families. This, he said, leads to a happy life together.
