The investigation confirmed the mines were newly placed by opposing forces, not leftover mines. Additionally, three PMN-1 mines and one POMZ mine were found nearby during tactical route development along the border.
The Navy affirmed that Thailand strictly adheres to the joint Thailand–Cambodia declaration of 27 December 2025, upholding humanitarian principles by not using or supporting the use of anti-personnel landmines under any circumstances.
The use of such landmines, especially new PMN-2s, constitutes a serious violation of international humanitarian law and obligations banning landmines. Thailand condemns these actions, will systematically document evidence, and proceed within legal and international frameworks.
