The Commander of the 22nd Military Circle awarded a rank insignia to the "Wife of a Fallen Heroic Soldier" while emphasizing the "Army" will leave no one behind


On 16 February 2026, the Facebook pageof the 22nd Military Circleposted a statement saying, "The 22nd Military Circle in Ubon Ratchathani has appointed the heir of a heroic soldier who died at the Thai-Cambodian border to serve in place of him.

Sergeant Anothai Pongkaew, a brave soldier from the Special Operations Battalion, Special Warfare Regiment 3 (Task Force 90), died in the line of duty defending the country's sovereignty with courage and sacrifice, demonstrating loyalty and great honor. According to Army regulations, families of those who sacrificed for the nation are cared for, including appointing heirs of the deceased to serve in their place, to help alleviate hardship, provide career stability to the family, and honor the memory of the fallen defender of the homeland.

On 16 February 2026 at 09:09, Brigadier General Thanakrit Panrod, Commander of the 22nd Military Circle, pinned the rank insignia on Miss Phensiri Srilapa, wife of the fallen heroic soldier, promoting her to Second Lieutenant Phensiri Srilapa, Welfare Officer of the 22nd Military Circle. The ceremony was held at the reception room of the 22nd Military Circle headquarters, with relatives, commanders, and commissioned officers attending to honor the occasion.

On this occasion, the Commander of the 22nd Military Circle expressed condolences for the loss of a beloved soldier who was a family pillar, thanked the family for their support and encouragement of the heroic soldier throughout his service, and congratulated the heir, the soldier’s wife, on becoming a new member of the Army. He urged her to perform her duties to the fullest and emphasized that the Army will leave no one behind, honoring the valor of those who sacrificed for the nation’s sovereignty and all Thai people from every community."
