San Kamphaeng School Director Refutes Pressure Allegations Investigation Finds No Wrongdoing

Chiang Mai – The director of San Kamphaeng School spoke out for the first time after being transferred to assist the Chiang Mai Secondary Education Service Area Office, following a complaint by a police inspector seeking justice for "Teacher Por" or "Teacher Paolla." The latest investigation results state that the director did not commit any wrongdoing as reported and plans to take action against those who caused damage. Meanwhile, the missing funds from the school's system are still under review.

At 11:00 a.m. on 18 February 2026, at the Dokkaew meeting room of San Kamphaeng School, San Kamphaeng District, Chiang Mai Province, Mr. Wutthikrai Wannakarn, director of San Kamphaeng School, along with his lawyer, held a press conference regarding the earlier social media post by Police Inspector Ton requesting justice for Teacher Paolla, his girlfriend, who died from carbon monoxide poisoning inside a car on 27 January 2026, after being summoned by the director.

Following posts on Facebook by both Police Inspector Ton and Teacher Paolla that were widely shared and sparked social media debate, with many mourning Teacher Paolla, the Chiang Mai Secondary Education Service Area Office intervened to investigate. The director of San Kamphaeng School was ordered transferred to the district office for two weeks. The latest investigation results from Chiang Mai Secondary Education Office have been released, and the director resumed duties today.

The investigation concluded that the director was not involved in any wrongdoing as reported. The tuition fees paid into Teacher Por’s or Teacher Paolla’s personal account are currently under review to determine the extent of any damage.

Mr. Wutthikrai Wannakarn, director of San Kamphaeng School, said the incident has severely affected him and his family. Many people on social media have insulted him, even though he had not yet taken any action and the investigation results were not out.

He admitted ordering a review of the school's financial system after the deputy director informed him that since November 2025, funds had not been recorded in the system. On 19 November, a staff member responsible for receiving money was found to have placed their own QR code for payments, with evidence that students transferred money into a personal account. He was very surprised because he had never authorized such actions.

This was considered misconduct. Therefore, he called a meeting that evening lasting about three hours, recording video to ensure everyone told the truth about the issues so they could find a collective solution. The goal was to resolve the problem.

The meeting concluded that receipts did not match the student names, and the money did not enter the school’s account.

This forced him to implement a new system and prepare for parents to pay tuition via bank QR codes to prevent future problems.

On 21 January 2026, Teacher Paolla came to work in the afternoon. The director showed CCTV footage during the press conference, which showed her covering the surveillance camera. The school discovered that the original student registration and tuition payment documents were missing, leaving only copies with signs of alteration.

He viewed document tampering as a serious matter and assigned the deputy director of budget to investigate seven specific discrepancies. Documents presented to the media led to forming an investigation committee to ensure fairness for the teacher. External experts were invited to assist in auditing and resolving the issue transparently.

On the morning of 26 January 2026, he sent a Line message inviting Teacher Paolla to meet after the flag ceremony. They had a good conversation, as they rarely spoke before since he had only met her twice since starting his position in October 2024. He did not even have her phone number. When she arrived from the back door, she spoke confidently and clearly. He told her a committee would be set up to investigate before any formal inquiry. After discussing work matters, he asked if she had classes, and she confirmed she did, so he told her to continue teaching.

On 27 January 2026, he was informed by the deputy director that Teacher Por had passed away. He and the school staff attended her funeral in Lampang Province as usual. The family showed no suspicion at that time. However, social media posts by Police Inspector Ton on 2 February raised questions. The director firmly denied pressuring or coercing Teacher Por in any way and refuted claims that he disposed of her belongings at the security booth. The school has all evidence, including footage showing Inspector Ton arriving personally to collect belongings. The teacher’s and students’ items were moved by helpers, not discarded. Inspector Ton came in his personal car and had police subordinates use a police pickup truck to transport items. When Inspector Ton raised concerns about the death, police at San Sai Police Station summoned the director and school teachers to testify as witnesses. The conclusion was that they were not involved.

He understands the emotions of someone who has lost a partner, but said the actions taken have caused him significant harm. He is currently gathering evidence and preparing to take legal action against those involved.

Regarding tuition payments made through the teacher’s account, preliminary checks indicate about 10 to 20 cases. Relevant parties are still verifying current financial records and the school’s accounts over the past three years. The extent of any losses will be determined after this review.
