Urgent Ban Bang Wa School Phang Nga Province announced a temporary suspension of classes following a fatal shooting incident. The suspect remains at large.
On 20 February 2026, it was reported that the Facebook pageof Ban Bang Wa Schoolposted a message titled "Notice of Class Suspension Due to Unusual Incident in the Area," stating that
"At approximately 7:30 a.m. on 20 February 2026, in Soi Tha Chao Nam 1, near Ban Bang Wa School, an armed shooting incident occurred in Village No. 9, Kura Subdistrict, Kuraburi District, Phang Nga Province, resulting in a fatality. This situation has compromised the safety of students, teachers, and educational staff. Currently, the suspect remains at large."
Ban Bang Wa School therefore announced a temporary suspension of classes starting from 10:30 a.m. on 20 February 2026. If conditions return to normal, classes will resume on Monday, 23 February 2026.
