22 Feb 2026 GMT+7A reporter reported thatPreviously, Nitchanan Wangkahat, a former candidate for Chonburi MP, District 10, People's Party, posted photos and messages on Facebook identifying the location as an Army camp in Prachinburi province wherea video was reportedshowing the punishment of two privates who returned to the camp later than the specified time. They were forced to crawl into a sewage treatment pit up to their necks. After emerging, they were struck on the middle of their backs with sticks and were heard crying out to their unitor to the Army for investigation.The question arose whether the Army had investigated and clarified if the incident actually happened, if the punishment was excessive, or if it violated the Military Discipline Act.
Later, on 20 Feb 2026,the Facebook page of the Army Spokesperson Teamposted a statement saying that reports had surfaced of a sergeant forcing a private to commit inappropriate acts inside the 2nd Infantry Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment, King's Guard in Prachinburi province.
The unit investigated and confirmed the incident was true. The soldier involved is Sergeant Natthakul Phakdee. After the incident, the unit took the victim to file a formal complaint with the police to press criminal charges against the offender. Additionally, the unit immediately launched a disciplinary investigation.
Currently, the unit has detained the offender to prepare for legal and official procedures. They confirmed support for imposing disciplinary punishment and pursuing legal action to the fullest extent.
