The Army spokesperson revealed that the observation concerning the 'short spoon' in the case of the conscript soldier's death is a separate issue, not included in the autopsy results under legal procedures. He emphasized that conscripts normally carry personal spoons to eat with.

On 22 Feb 2026, regarding the case where the Army clarified facts about a conscript soldier from the 2nd Artillery Regiment, King's Guard, at Phrom Yothi Camp in Prachinburi province, who lost consciousness and died while detained in the military prison of the 12th Military Circle. Medical examination determined the cause as acute heart failure late last year. The family understands the facts based on medical evidence and related environmental conditions, confirming there were no signs of physical abuse as previously reported..  

Regarding the public suspicion about a 'short spoon' found mixed with bones after the cremation, Major General Winthai Suwaree, Army spokesperson, stated this is a separate issue and is not part of the autopsy results under legal and bureaucratic procedures. This concern was raised afterward.

He reiterated that conscripts normally carry personal spoons for eating, kept in their clothing pockets, and this unit's soldiers are the same. However, in the case of the deceased conscript, details were too limited to clarify this matter. The focus remains on explaining the main point—the cause of death—which all information references.That it was a deathby natural causes, not due to harm.
