A warrior spirit possessed a teenager in Ayutthaya, who, fully armed, led a group into a street fight on Rojana Road, the Ayutthaya-Wang Noi route. Locals shouted to stop them but were ignored.
On 23 Feb 2026, the incident went viral online after a Facebook user posted footage showing a fierce fight among teenagers fully armed. From the video, the groups involved included 'shorts-wearing students, local kids, vocational students,' as well as secondary school Year 8 students, fighting on Rojana Road, Ayutthaya-Wang Noi route, near the Phahonyothin Road junction in Moo 7, Lam Sai Subdistrict, Wang Noi District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.
The video showed two groups of students: one in short pants school uniforms, some wearing jackets; the other in sweatpants, jackets, and black sneakers typical of students. Both sides wielded knives and hooked knives, attacking each other in the street, alarming motorists passing by.
During the incident, more students on motorcycles joined, then one crashed into an opponent, causing the motorcycle to fall. The male rider was injured and lay unconscious on the road amid chaos.
The Facebook user also posted the clip with the comment: "Ayutthaya strikes again, students! If you had been faster, Ayutthaya wouldn’t have fallen." After the video spread, many commented critically on the students' violent behavior and called for authorities to investigate the facts, enforce the law, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
Reporters visited the scene, finding long scratch marks on the road and a broken black wristwatch left on the median strip.
Ms. Porntip, 66, a food vendor, said she was at her shop when she saw about 15-16-year-old students riding motorcycles and then attacking each other in front of her shop. She shouted to stop and locals shouted that police were coming, but the students ignored them and continued fighting. One attacker rode a motorcycle into another, causing a fall and unconsciousness. Friends helped the injured regain consciousness, then everyone dispersed.
Porntip added that fights among students often happen in that area, and the group involved were still children. She said she wasn’t afraid because, despite knives and sticks, the fighting wasn’t seriously intended to harm.
Police Colonel Somjet Manbut, Chief of Wang Noi Police Station, said he ordered investigators to quickly identify the culprits on both sides and coordinate with schools and guardians to question the youths and proceed legally since all are minors.
A 16-year-old boy told reporters he is a non-formal education student. On the day, he rode a motorcycle with friends in school uniforms heading to cut across Phahonyothin Road and saw another group from a different school wearing sportswear throwing several ping pong bombs at his group. A fight broke out. One friend tried to fend off attackers by crashing his orange motorcycle into them, but he fell and was injured, hospitalized. Another friend was cut on the finger by a knife. The boy said the confrontation was accidental and he didn’t know the cause.
Police are still investigating both groups and will proceed legally since all involved are minors.
