
A box truck collided with a motorcycle carrying a husband and wife, killing both. Police are conducting a strict investigation after relatives revealed the driver was the female victim's ex-boyfriend and had previously attempted harm once. Ultimately, the driver surrendered to the evidence, claiming he intended to hit them but did not intend to kill.
On 24 Feb 2026 GMT+7, following the accident involving 35-year-old Mr. Krisada Pholkid, who was driving a box truck and crashed into a motorcycle carrying a married couple: 44-year-old Mr. Wichet andMs. Pannipa,aged 39, resulting in their immediate deaths. Mr. Wichet was found pinned under the rear wheel on the road. The incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. on the night of 23 Feb.
Initially,the driver claimed he swerved to avoid a motorcycle cutting him off, which caused him to lose control and hit the couple's motorcycle. Meanwhile, relatives of the female victim arrived at the scene and, upon identifying the driver, believed this was no ordinary accident.They suspected it was intentional, as the driver was the female victim’s ex-boyfriend, and the male victim was her new partner. The driver had previously chased and attempted to hit them once before and continued to harass the woman until this fatal incident.
It was also revealed that the deceased couple had dated over ten years ago and had two children together, a son and a daughter. The man had served over two years in prison for drug possession. During that time, the woman started dating
Mr. Jesada, who frequently abused her. Before the accident, the woman had broken up withJesada three to four months prior and resumed her relationship with Mr. Wichet, but Jesada continued to harass her relentlessly.However,evidence fromsecurity camerasprovided crucial proof. CCTV footage from the side of Theparak Road recorded, at 9:39:46 p.m. on 23 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Krisada driving the box truck involved in the incident,parking with headlights off near the turnoff to the woman’s lodging, waiting.
Subsequent footage from another angle at 9:42:07 p.m. captured the deceased couple riding their motorcycle out of the alley. At the same time, the first camera showed the driver turning on his headlights and accelerating to follow and chase them, eventually crashing into the rear, causing the fatal accident.Deputy Superintendent Chansit Dedduang, the investigation officer at Bang Sao Thong Police Station, stated that toxicology tests showed no alcohol in the driver’s blood but did detect drugs. The driver remained defiant, claiming it was an accident and denying any intent to kill his ex-girlfriend and her husband.Most recently, at 1:00 p.m. on 24 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Superintendent Sophon Mongkolsophonrat, chief of Bang Sao Thong Police Station in Samut Prakan Province, interrogated Mr. Krisada, who confessed under the weight of evidence. He admitted that he had indeed waited for the victims, claiming the woman had called him to pick her up. Upon arriving, he sent her a photo showing he was parked and waiting, but she did not check or answer his calls.He then saw the couple riding their motorcycle out from the condo alley and intentionally followed and struck them, intending to stop and talk but not expecting them to be severely injured or killed. He insisted he meant to hit them but not to cause death.Police are preparing to consider additional charges after interviewing the suspect and reviewing his statements. Besides charges of reckless driving causing death and drug use while operating a vehicle, other related charges are under consideration for filing.
