Continuous Explosions at Border Patrol Police Ammunition Depot in Surin Casualty Status Unknown

Explosions continue intermittently at the Border Patrol Police ammunition depot in Surin. Rescue and firefighting teams have not yet been able to contain the situation, and there are no reports of injuries or deaths so far.

At 19:30 on 24 Feb 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported an explosion inside the ammunition depot of Border Patrol Police Company 21 (BPP 21) at Surin Phakdi Camp, Mueang District, Surin Province. Intense explosions and flames occurred periodically, and firefighters were in the process of responding.

The 2nd Army Area has recently dispatched personnel to the area to assist with firefighting and manage the situation. Authorities are currently investigating the cause and assessing the damage in detail. There are no official reports confirming any injuries or deaths.

Nearby Surindra Rajabhat University reported that buildings within the campus felt tremors. Residents in adjacent areas heard loud explosions followed by intense fires. Multiple subsequent explosive sounds continued to be heard in several bursts.

However, rescue personnel and firefighting vehicles have not yet been able to control the situation because explosions continue to occur intermittently. Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
