Continuous Explosions at Border Patrol Police Ammunition Depot in Surin Casualties Unknown

At the Border Patrol Police ammunition depot in Surin, explosions have been occurring intermittently. Rescue and firefighting personnel have not yet been able to control the situation. There are also no reports of injuries or fatalities.

At 19:30 on 24 Feb 2026 GMT+7, reporters confirmed an explosion inside the ammunition depot of Border Patrol Police Company 21 (BPP 21) at Surin Phakdi Camp in Mueang District, Surin Province. Flames and strong explosions have occurred repeatedly. Firefighters are currently attempting to extinguish the fire.

Latest reports indicate that the Second Army Region has dispatched personnel to the area to assist with fire control and manage the situation. Authorities are investigating the cause and assessing damage in detail. No official confirmation of injuries or deaths has been made.

Near the incident site, at Surindra Rajabhat University, reports say buildings felt tremors from the explosions. Residents nearby heard loud blasts followed by fire outbreaks and several subsequent explosions.

However, rescue teams and fire trucks still cannot access the site to control the situation due to ongoing intermittent explosions. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
