Later, at 20:20, many rescue and firefighting personnel gathered in front of the Unit 21 camp to prepare for incident control. Various agencies joined to assess the situation and plan firefighting efforts, but access remains blocked due to ongoing intermittent explosions of fireworks and ammunition scattered around.
Officials have also expedited evacuations of nearby residents because the explosion dispersed ammunition that could potentially reach the community. The cause is being examined, and damage is being assessed in detail. No confirmed injuries or deaths have been reported officially.
Meanwhile, authorities have temporarily closed some roads in Surin city to ensure public safety.
Recently, Pol. Col. Jakrin Undee, commander of Border Patrol Police Unit 21, told Thairath TV news team that the incident was not sabotage but an armory explosion.
