Weather on 25 Feb 2026: Summer Storm Weakens but Northern Thailand Still Faces Heavy Rain Check Risk Provinces

Weather on 25 Feb 2026 today "Summer storm" weakens but northern Thailand still has heavy rain and strong gusty winds in many areas. Check which provinces are at risk and require monitoring.

On 25 Feb 2026, the Facebook pageof the Meteorological Departmentposted that today the summer storm weakens, but upper Thailand still experiences thunderstorms and strong gusty winds in many provinces.

The 24-hour weather forecast indicates that upper Thailand has a summer storm characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, hail, heavy rain in some areas, and possible lightning, caused by a high-pressure area or cold air mass from China covering the eastern part of the Northeast and the South China Sea.

This causes southerly and southeasterly winds to bring moisture covering the Northeast, Central, East, and the Gulf of Thailand, combined with a westerly airflow from Myanmar moving over the North and upper Northeast regions.

While upper Thailand remains hot, the public in these areas should beware of summer storm dangers by avoiding open spaces, large trees, weak structures, and billboards. Farmers should reinforce fruit trees and prepare to protect crops and livestock from possible damage.

The South has scattered thunderstorms due to easterly and southeasterly winds covering the Gulf of Thailand, the South, and the Andaman Sea. Waves in the Gulf are moderate, about 1 meter high, and over 2 meters where thunderstorms occur. Mariners in the Gulf and Andaman Sea should navigate with caution.

Currently, dust accumulation or haze in upper Thailand is moderate to quite high but tends to stabilize or decrease due to moderate ventilation and chances of rain in some areas.

7-day forecast: On 26-27 Feb 2026, rainfall in upper Thailand will decrease but isolated thunderstorms remain, with hot daytime temperatures due to continued moist southerly and southwesterly winds.

From 28 Feb to 3 Mar 2026, upper Thailand will be hot due to a low-pressure area caused by heat covering the region. The South will see increased rain from 26 Feb to 3 Mar 2026 due to westerly and southwesterly winds covering the Andaman Sea, South, and Gulf of Thailand. Waves in the Andaman Sea will be 1-2 meters, over 2 meters in thunderstorm areas.

Precaution: From 28 Feb to 3 Mar 2026, people in upper Thailand should take care of their healthdue to rising temperatures..

Earthquake situation (24-25 Feb 2026):. Earthquakes measuring 2.4 magnitude centered in Laos, 2.0 in Myanmar, and 4.2 and 3.5 in Vietnam were detected, with no impact on Thailand.
