At 12:00 on 25 Feb 2026, on the outbound parallel lane of Bangna-Trad Road at kilometer marker 32, Bang Bo Subdistrict, Bang Bo District, Samut Prakan Province, professional nurses and the Bang Bo rescue team worked together performing CPR to save the life of 8-year-old Chawanwit, who lay unconscious on the road with severe injuries from being crushed by a truck wheel on his hip. His mother’s anguished cries filled the air as she waited in hope for her son's rescue.
This accident occurred after Ms. Pikul, 37, was riding a motorcycle on Bangna-Trad Road with Chawanwit sitting behind her. They collided with a truck, causing the boy to fall and be crushed severely by the truck wheel on his hip, resulting in critical injuries and respiratory arrest. The Prakan rescue center ordered medical teams from Bang Bo Hospital to support at the scene and mobilized rescue teams and medical equipment. Due to heavy traffic, it took over 20 minutes to reach the site before providing initial aid and rushing him urgently to the hospital.
Mr. Nuengrutai Nopsit, 25, a construction worker who helped the boy, said that upon seeing the accident, he immediately went to assist. He found the boy convulsing and unconscious, tightly clutching his own hand. He quickly sent someone to fetch a nurse from the construction site to provide preliminary care while waiting for the rescue team to arrive.
Ms. Pikul, the boy’s mother who kept calling his name and praying for his safety, said she was riding with her son on the motorcycle to run errands in Chonburi Province. At the accident site, construction was underway on the left lane, forcing traffic to merge into a single right lane. She tried to avoid the barriers marking the construction but did not notice the vehicle behind her, resulting in a collision that caused her to fall and her son to be crushed by the truck wheel, leaving him motionless.
Mr. Pitun Sukluang, 29, the truck driver involved, said he was driving normally when he reached the construction zone, where traffic was limited to a single right lane. He looked in his side mirror and was halfway past the vehicle ahead when the collision happened unexpectedly, causing the motorcycle to fall and the boy to be severely injured. He immediately stopped, checked on them, and called for emergency assistance.
Initially, police summoned the truck driver for further questioning at Bang Bo Police Station to proceed with legal actions according to the law.
