Second Announcement Warns of Summer Storm from 3–6 March with Heavy Rain in Some Areas

'The Meteorological Department' issued the second announcement warning of the 'summer storm' from 3 to 6 March, characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, hail, and heavy rain in some places.

1 March 2026 GMT+7The Meteorological Department's websiteannounced the matter of 'Summer Storms in Upper Thailand' (effective from 3 to 6 March 2026), the second announcement states that during 3 to 6 March 2026, upper Thailand will experience summer storms, starting in the eastern part of the northeast region first. The eastern region, central region including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the northern region will be affected subsequently. The storms will feature thunderstorms, strong gusts of wind, hail, heavy rain in some areas, and lightning that may occur in some locations.

This is due to a high-pressure area or cold air mass moving from China covering the northeast and the South China Sea, while upper Thailand experiences hot weather. Additionally, a westerly wind wave will pass through the northern and upper northeastern regions.

People in these areas are advised to be cautious of dangers from the summer storm by avoiding open spaces, staying away from large trees, unstable structures, and billboards. Farmers should reinforce fruit trees and prepare to prevent possible damage to agricultural produce and livestock, as well as take care of their health during changing weather conditions.

However, the public is urged to follow announcements from the Meteorological Department and can obtain information on the department’s website http://www.tmd.go.th or by calling 0-2399-4012-13 and 1182, available 24 hours a day.
