Promoting Phra Nakhon Khiri Festival to Global Festival Status as an International MICE Event

The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) is preparing to elevate the Phra Nakhon Khiri Festival in Phetchaburi to a global festival, establishing it as an international MICE event and raising awareness among tourists worldwide.

Dr. Supawan Teerarat, Director of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), revealed that they intend to submit the Phra Nakhon Khiri Festival in Phetchaburi to compete as a global festival event in the United States.

If successful in the competition, the whole world will become more familiar with Phetchaburi, and it will also promote the enduring cultural values. This year marks the 39th Phra Nakhon Khiri Festival, a longstanding event held alongside Phetchaburi City. TCEB aims for this event to be known nationwide, not only within Phetchaburi but globally.

TCEB supports the festival's promotion and has organized activities that showcase cultural aspects of food. In collaboration with Phetchaburi Province, the Phetchaburi Creative and MICE Business Trade Association, and partner networks, they back the festival's development into an international MICE event. A key highlight is the “Gala Dinner Chef's Table at Phra Nakhon Khiri,” which features the unique food creativity of Phetchaburi, presented by the experienced young chef “Phu Khao” Puriphat Onlaong. He has created a special menu inspired by dishes served to royal guests during King Rama V’s era.

Together with a team from Phetchaburi Rajabhat University, they aim to preserve, continue, and expand this heritage, befitting Phetchaburi’s status as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.
