Authorities Arrest Pregnant Woman Near Delivery for Methamphetamine Use, Husband Flees Manhunt Underway

Administrative officers arrested a heavily pregnant woman who admitted to using methamphetamine, while her husband fled quickly and is currently being pursued.

On 5 March 2026 GMT+7, reporters learned that administrative officers from Khao Chakan District, Sa Kaeo Province, investigated a residence in Village 8, Khao Sam Sip Subdistrict, Khao Chakan District, Sa Kaeo Province, after receiving complaints from locals that youth frequently gathered there to use drugs, causing distress and fear within the community.

Upon arrival and inspection, officers found Mr. Thid and Ms. Oi, 38, his wife, inside the house. During the check, Mr. Thid fled the house quickly, leaving only Ms. Oi at the scene.

In questioning, the heavily pregnant Ms. Oi admitted to officers that she had recently used methamphetamine before the inspection. She stated that she typically took about two pills daily, usually during times of conflict with her partner.

Initially, officers took Ms. Oi into the drug rehabilitation process according to protocol. They also coordinated with the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS) to provide family welfare support, as she is near delivery, ensuring proper care before and after childbirth.

Authorities will continue to track down Mr. Thid, who fled, to bring him in for legal proceedings and further investigation. Meanwhile, administrative officers emphasized that citizens who witness drug-related gatherings or activities can report tips immediately to help address the community’s drug problems seriously.
