They received the first group of 62 Thais, led by Ms. Chayanit Prasertphon, Counselor at the Embassy in Tehran, who had safely crossed from Iran through the Razi border point to Kapikoy in Turkey.
The operations center arranged accommodation, food, survival kits, and other necessities for the Thais evacuated from Iran while they stay in the city of Van, awaiting their onward journey back to Thailand on 8 and 9 March 2026.
This evacuation of Thais from Iran follows the Thai government's policy to assist Thai nationals in the Middle East affected by conflict to leave dangerous areas at the earliest opportunity, ensuring their safety.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude to the authorities in Iran and Turkey for facilitating the evacuation of the Thai group and extended concern for everyone’s welfare. It urged Thais residing in the Middle East to closely follow news and announcements from Thai embassies and consulates in the region.
