Chiang Mai Faces Diesel and Gasohol 91-95 Shortage Crisis, Some Stations Temporarily Close

Chiang Mai is facing a diesel and Gasohol 91-95 fuel shortage crisis that is spreading widely. Some stations have started posting "Out of Fuel" signs and have temporarily closed to wait for new fuel deliveries, the timing of which remains unknown.

On 10 Mar 2026 GMT+7, the morning atmosphere in Chiang Mai was reported by correspondents surveying gas stations. The Middle East conflict has entered its second week, and yesterday evening PTT and Bangchak announced a 0.50 baht increase per liter for GSH91S EVO and GSH95S EVO fuels, while lowering prices by 0.50 baht per liter for GSH E20S EVO and GSH E85S EVO fuels, except for the Hi Premium and diesel groups, whose prices remain unchanged.

As a result, some stations like the PT station in the Ruamchok area ran out of fuel and had to post signs at the station. The station reported that many people came to fill up and brought containers to stockpile fuel, causing both the station and its fuel depot in Chiang Mai to run dry. Therefore, they must wait for tanker deliveries, but the arrival time is still unknown, forcing the station to close temporarily.

Meanwhile, other stations in Chiang Mai city are operating normally, with people still coming to refuel. However, customer numbers are somewhat reduced since most residents filled their tanks yesterday after hearing about the upcoming price increases announced by PTT and Bangchak.
