Health Minister Reveals Progress of Sawanpracharak Hospital Developing Five Specialized Centers

The Health Minister revealed that Sawanpracharak Hospital in Nakhon Sawan Province is focusing on developing a new area into five specialized centers, preparing to add high-value health services, with expected annual revenue of 100 million baht. The original site will be converted into a longevity medical center to support the aging society and enhance business-oriented services.

On 9 March 2026 in Nakhon Sawan Province, Health Minister Patthana Prompattana, along with Deputy Health Minister Worachot Sukonkajorn, Secretary to the Minister Jittrath Meethongthankorn, and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health Dr. Somrit Jongsaman, visited to monitor the progress and development plan of Sawanpracharak Hospital. Dr. Adisorn Watthanasak, Regional Health Inspector of Health Region 3, Dr. Rojana Khonthong, Director of Sawanpracharak Hospital, and the hospital’s management team welcomed them.

Minister Patthana stated that Sawanpracharak Hospital is a regional center hospital in Health Region 3 (covering Nakhon Sawan, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Uthai Thani, and Chai Nat provinces), developing services to ensure people have access to quality care across diseases and age groups. The new Sawanpracharak Hospital (Khao Khiao site) is focusing on becoming a center of excellence in five fields: 1) Organ Donation and Transplant Center — in 2025, 58 corneal transplants were performed; in 2026, kidney and bone marrow transplant centers will be established in March, with the first kidney transplant planned for April; 2) Cardiology and Vascular Center; 3) Cancer Center — offering comprehensive cancer treatments including surgery, 3D particle-accelerated radiotherapy, targeted chemotherapy, and immunotherapy, with nuclear medicine services planned by 2027; 4) Neonatal Center — providing care for critically ill and premature infants with advanced technology; and 5) Trauma and Emergency Center — using a smart ER program to track patient location and status in real time, with CT scan and in-house operating rooms for rapid critical care. Additionally, there are plans to add high-value health services such as robotic surgery, genomic sequencing technology, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, expected to generate about 100 million baht annually.

Minister Patthana added that the original hospital site will be developed into the Nakhon Sawan Longevity Center, aiming to become an urban hospital specialized in holistic health promotion and elderly care by 2037. It will support an aging society by offering comprehensive services including traditional Thai medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, physical therapy, geriatric clinics, occupational medicine, family medicine, dentistry, and dialysis with artificial kidney machines. The center will also provide care for mid-term and palliative patients and upgrade business-oriented services such as spa, hydrotherapy, and medical hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) chambers.
