Ashes of Former Monk Yantara Divided into Four Parts, Preserved at Wat Pa Sunyataram with Portions Sent Abroad

Kanchanaburi revealed that the ashes of former monk Yantara were divided into four parts, with most preserved at Wat Pa Sunyataram. The other three parts were distributed to Pak Phanang, Vietnam, and the United States.

Regarding the case where Wat Pa Sunyataram in Prang Phlo Subdistrict, Sangkhla Buri District, Kanchanaburi Province held the cremation ceremony for former monk Yantara Amorophikku (Vinai Laongsuwan), thousands of monks, novices, maechi, disciples—both Thai and foreign—and Buddhist devotees who respected him participated, as previously reported.




The latest update, at 09:30 on 11 March 2026, Phra Anan Apinno, caretaker of Wat Pa Sunyataram in Prang Phlo Subdistrict, Sangkhla Buri District, Kanchanaburi Province, revealed that after the cremation ceremony, the temple preserved the ashes of former monk Yantara Amorophikku by dividing them into four parts.

Part one consists of the majority of the ashes kept at Wat Pa Sunyataram, awaiting enshrinement in a planned stupa. Part two was given to disciples in Vietnam. Part three was given to fellow monks in Pak Phanang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat. Part four was sent to be preserved at Wat Sunyataram in Escondido, California, United States.
