Chaeng Watthana Government Complex Unveils New Co-working Space with Affordable Access Fees

The Chaeng Watthana Government Complex has unveiled a revamped Co-working Space to promote Lak Si as a nearby work hub, responding to the hybrid work trend with affordable access fees, supporting both individuals and organizations.

On 11 Mar, Mr. Teetach Suksart, Acting Managing Director of DAD Asset Development Company Limited, manager of the Chaeng Watthana Government Complex in honor of the 80th Birthday Anniversary on 5 Dec 2007, said they have developed a total of 4,500 square meters on the 4th and 5th floors of Building C (Phod Duang Building) into a comprehensive Co-working Space and ready-to-use offices. This service is available to government agencies, civil servants, and the general public. It is part of a policy to increase building utilization efficiency and to support modern work styles where employees do not need to be in the office daily and can work from anywhere.

The company recognizes the potential of the Lak Si area, which hosts government offices, educational institutions, and large residential communities, along with key transport links such as the Red Line and Pink Line trains and Don Mueang Airport. Developing this Co-working Space is not just about adding work areas but creating a new option for local people to have quality workplaces close to home with convenient transportation. It serves as a comprehensive lifestyle center equipped with full facilities.

Mr. Teetach added that the Co-working Space offers affordable fees, accommodating individuals to organizations. It has over 180 seats and provides three service types: Dedicated Desk at 2,400 baht per person per month; Hot Desk at 2,000 baht per person per month; and Day Pass at 150 baht per person per day. The Serviced Office includes 17 rooms for small to medium teams, with rental starting at 8,500 baht per month for a 2-seat room and up to 27,000 baht per month for rooms with 6 to 8 seats. Additionally, there are seven meeting and training rooms accommodating 6 to 14 seats and a 50-seat training room. Rental rates start at 400 baht per hour for small rooms and 3,000 baht per hour for large training rooms, with special full-day packages available. A key highlight is the Multi-Function Area, which can hold up to 470 seats, suitable for seminars, workshops, or community and organizational events. Rental begins at 150 baht per person per day or 8,000 baht per day for the space.

The opening of this Co-working Space reflects the evolving role of the Chaeng Watthana Government Complex from merely a location for government agencies to a central hub of activities and work in Lak Si. It aligns with the growing trend of flexible workspaces in Bangkok. A report by Savills (Thailand) notes that demand for flexible workspaces remains strong, especially among organizations seeking to reduce long-term lease commitments. Meanwhile, Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) reports that flexible workspaces have become a key component of the modern office market, with demand expanding from central business districts to potential outer city locations. Lak Si–Chaeng Watthana areas continue to see growth in low-rise housing and condominiums and host numerous government and private organizations. This creates a diverse user base including civil servants, company employees, freelancers, and professionals. The launch of the Co-working Space in the Phod Duang Building is thus a significant step to enhance northern Bangkok’s potential, pushing Lak Si to become a sustainable work-near-home hub that supports new work styles. It is now open on the 4th and 5th floors of Building C at the Chaeng Watthana Government Complex.
