
A summer storm unleashed its fury. Heavy rain and hail fell. They struck the area intensely. Ban Nong Pa Khaem. Mae Sariang District, Mae Hong Son Province, where over 90 households were affected.
At 3:00 p.m. on 11 Mar 2026, reporters stated that a strong rainstorm with hail occurred widely in Mae Sariang District, Mae Hong Son Province. Particularly in Ban Nong Pa Khaem, Mae Khong Subdistrict, Mae Sariang District, even an hour after the storm subsided, hail remained scattered along the roadside and inside homes in large quantities.
Consequently, the Mae Sariang district office publicized a call for community and local leaders to urgently survey the damage.
Mae Sariang had already been affected by the summer storm since the evening of 10 Mar 2026, with relief efforts ongoing. Over 90 homes across four villages in Ban Kat Subdistrict were damaged, mostly roofs harmed by strong winds. The Ban Kat Subdistrict Administrative Organization promptly assessed damage and assisted affected residents urgently.
The Mae Sariang district chief emphasized that village heads and leaders in all villages should thoroughly conduct further damage assessments. Coordination with local administrative organizations and relevant government agencies is underway to integrate urgent relief efforts. Initially, Ban Kat Subdistrict Administrative Organization has distributed roofing materials to all affected households and mobilized local volunteer forces along with government agencies and the community to repair homes, enabling residents to return to normal living as soon as possible.
