On 12 March 2026, the Meteorological Department announced the summer storms in upper Thailand (impact expected until 13 March 2026) in its 4th update.

It stated that the North, Central region, western parts of the Northeast, the East, including Bangkok and its vicinity, will experience summer storms characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, hail, and localized heavy rain, as well as possible lightning in some areas. This is due to a westerly airflow from Myanmar covering the North and western Northeast, combined with a high-pressure area or moderate cold air mass moving over the Northeast, East, and the South China Sea.

Residents in those areas are advised to be cautious of hazards from summer storms by avoiding open spaces, large trees, fragile structures, and unsecured billboards. Farmers should strengthen fruit trees and prepare to protect agricultural products and livestock from potential damage. People should also take care of their health during changing weather conditions.
