Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) announces the days for large waste disposal in 2026 with free service across all 50 districts of Bangkok. After the New Year, many households likely have “remnants” left idlein corners of their homes, whether an old sofa that's collapsed and unusable,a mattressthat was replaced but the old one is still leaning against the wall, orevena wooden cabinet infested with termites. These items not only clutter the view but also accumulate dust and germs, making the home untidy. Today, Thairath Online recommends proper points for disposing of large waste that are convenient and satisfactory for homeowners.
Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has organized a project called “Scheduled Large Waste Disposal” on Saturday, 14 March 2026, and Sunday, 15 March 2026, offering free service with no charges. Residents can use the service near their area. The dates and disposal locations are clearly set for efficient waste management and greater convenience for every household.
Residents are kindly requested to place their large waste and unwanted items at the designated waste collection points in front of their residences before 8:30 a.m. to await collection by officials between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
Large waste refers to general waste items that are too big to fit into regular trash bins, usually over 1 meter in size or weighing more than 30 kilograms.
Sort large waste into categories like furniture, electrical appliances, and sports equipment. Items over 1 meter should be cut into smaller pieces. Heavy items should be separated into parts and tied together. Bring small waste separately along with identification such as ID card, electricity bill, or water bill.
1. Take the waste to the designated collection point
2. Show proof of identity to confirm ownership
3. Officials will collect and transport the waste to disposal sites free of charge
Additionally, for those needing to dispose of large amounts of waste far from weekly scheduled points, they can contact the Cleaning and Parks Division of any district office and pay fees according to government regulations. Scan the QR CODE to contact the cleaning division in all 50 districts.
