On 14 Mar 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that due to ongoing unrest in the Middle East, people in Chai Nat city have been actively filling their vehicles at gas stations. At the PTT station near the Chai Nat Highway District office in Mueang Chai Nat district, crowds have formed long queues over fears of a price increase on 17 Mar after the government announced price caps only until 16 Mar.
Fearing possible fuel shortages and price hikes, many vehicles lined up outside the station. The station provided normal service except for diesel, which was limited to a maximum of 1,000 baht per vehicle depending on necessity.
A farmer filling fuel said he regularly uses it for water pumps, vehicles, and agricultural equipment, often filling nearly 100 liters at a time with 25-liter containers. He usually comes to this station because it consistently has fuel available.
A cashier at the station said that since early morning, many customers have come nonstop, leaving no time to eat, but they continue to serve customers. Diesel prices have not increased today; instead, the station has implemented a policy limiting diesel purchases to 1,000 baht per vehicle to distribute fuel fairly among customers.
The station does not hoard fuel; it sells whatever supply arrives until it runs out. When out of fuel, customers are informed, and those who come earlier are served first. Customers are advised to plan their trips accordingly.
