Sukhothai Residents Queue Early to Refill Fuel but Disappointed as Diesel Runs Out

Many provinces across Thailand remain in a fuel shortage situation, especially diesel. In Sawankhalok District, Sukhothai Province, residents still cannot find diesel to refill. Sugarcane farmers admit they have been searching at nearly every gas station for 3-4 days without success, even when trying to fuel water pumps.

Many provinces throughout Thailand continue to face fuel shortages, particularly diesel, causing hardships for all fuel users including farmers and gardeners.

Regarding this issue, at 07:00 on 15 March 2026, reporters reported that fuel shortages at various gas stations in Sawankhalok District, Sukhothai Province, persist, with residents still unable to obtain diesel. Although some diesel deliveries have arrived, they remain insufficient to meet local demand. For example, at the PT gas station on Srisatchanalai Road, Muang Sawankhalok Subdistrict, Sawankhalok District, residents lined up from early morning in long queues hoping to refuel but were disappointed as supplies ran out. Staff had to direct incoming vehicles that fuel was no longer available.

Inquiries revealed that today the station received only 7,000 liters of diesel, which is not enough to meet residents' needs. Currently, the station has only E20 fuel available, while gasoline types 91 and 95 have also run out.

Ms. Yupin, a sugarcane farmer from Village 12, Nai Mueang Subdistrict, Sawankhalok District, Sukhothai Province, said she farms 70 rai of sugarcane and has been trying to buy diesel to fuel water pumps for irrigating her fields for 3-4 days but has been unable to find diesel at almost every gas station.
